The Epsilon Alpha Chapter was first chartered on May 24th, 1952 by five men who were initiated Delts from other chapters throughout the Southeast.
The first Delt House was soon outgrown by the chapter, and in 1964, moved into the location that it would hold until the chapter was closed in 1999. The chapter grew to be one of the most prominent chapters at Auburn University throughout the 1970's and 80's. The chapter won the Hugh Shields award in 1972, 1973, and 1976. The Epsilon Alpha chapter closed due to low membership in 1999, but was rechartered in 2004.
One of the most prominent initiates was Thomas K. Mattingly, who later became an Apollo astronaut. On the Apollo 16 mission, Brother Mattingly set an Auburn University flag and a Delt flag on the moon.
Delta Tau Delta is a values-based organization with Truth, Courage, Faith and Power as her core values. The day a member takes his Oath, he begins his pursuit of a life committed to excellence. The Fraternity is the cornerstone of that journey.
All Delt men live by a common mission: "Committed to Lives of Excellence." We guide men through our programs and our values so that they will have the confidence and tools to serve their fellow man.
Greetings and War Eagle! Welcome to the Epsilon Alpha Chapter of Delta Tau Delta at Auburn University. My name is Joe Curry, and I have the privilege of serving as the chapter’s president this year.
Delta Tau Delta has a rich history at Auburn, dating back to 1952. Since that time, our chapter has remained committed to the values that define our fraternity—brotherhood, leadership, scholarship, and service. We strive to create an environment where our members can grow as men of integrity, build lifelong friendships, and represent Delta Tau Delta with excellence on campus and in the community.
As Delts, we encourage our brothers to be involved and to lead. Whether it’s student organizations, campus ministries, community service, or professional development, we want our members to take advantage of every opportunity Auburn has to offer. We also place a strong emphasis on academics and provide support and resources to help our brothers succeed both in the classroom and beyond.
Our chapter is made up of men from many different backgrounds, each bringing unique strengths and perspectives to our fraternity. That diversity is part of what makes Epsilon Alpha so special. We are united by our shared values and our commitment to one another.
To our alumni, I want to extend a sincere invitation to stay connected with us. Your support, example, and involvement continue to shape this chapter, and we are grateful for the legacy you have built. Whether it’s through mentorship, attending events, or simply stopping by, your presence strengthens our bonds of brotherhood.
If you are interested in joining Delta Tau Delta, we would love to meet you. Becoming a Delt is more than joining a fraternity, it’s joining a brotherhood and a support system that lasts well beyond your years at Auburn.
